About This Role

The Market Development Officer will be part of a market access project under the Rural Partnerships team and will serve as a single point of contact for all project activities in the state. The officer will report to the project manager based in Bangalore and will be responsible for successfully implementing the SCALE project in the area of implementation. The role requires extensive travel to Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) locations across the state.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and liaise with the corporate client team in the state
  • Maintain touch points with FPOs and foster healthy working relationships
  • Undertake field visits to coordinate pilots on the ground
  • Train FPO staff on usage of innovations suggested by the program
  • Manage first-level escalations during product usage by FPO and farmers
  • Drive product utilization on the ground
  • Coordinate trade activation events with FPOs
  • Follow up and close on leads generated through campaigns
  • Capture data and share reports with Point of Contact
Candidate Profile
  • Education background in Agriculture or Agribusiness
  • 2-3 years of experience in field-based roles, especially stakeholder management in Agribusiness
  • Willingness to travel extensively to FPO locations across the state
  • Ability to maintain cordial relationships with FPOs, client teams, and enterprise staff
  • Good documentation and communication skills in English and local language
  • Manage tight deadlines and work with clear objectives and timelines
  • Prior experience working with FPOs or farmers
  • Some business development or sales experience (preferable)

Key Requirements
