About Manal Foundation

Manal Foundation, inspired by Mr. M. Manal – the visionary behind Himalaya Wellness Company – was established in 2023 to transform lives through education and skill development. The foundation works towards enabling meaningful access to education, skills, and pathways to employability and self-employment. Through partnerships with training institutions and NGOs, it seeks to expand opportunities for individuals to develop practical skills that support long-term livelihoods and economic independence.

Background

As part of its mission to create pathways to employability through vocational skills training, mentorship, and institutional collaboration, Manal Foundation is now seeking implementation partners in Assam to deliver hands-on vocational training programs in the region.

About this EOI

Manal Foundation invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from training institutions and non-governmental organizations based in Assam that are engaged in locally relevant vocational skills training programs.

Program Focus: The initiative aims to support training programs that equip individuals with practical, income-generating skills and connect them to employment opportunities or sustainable livelihoods.

Training Areas Include:
• Bamboo and cane craft
• Handloom weaving and textile skills
• Terracotta or metal craft
• Tailoring, food processing, beauty and wellness services
• Electrical repair, mobile phone repair, plumbing, automotive servicing
• Other hands-on livelihood skills relevant to the region

Scope of Partnership:
• Design and deliver hands-on vocational training programs
• Provide access to training facilities, tools, and trainers
• Facilitate employment opportunities, apprenticeships, or industry connections
• Support self-employment or micro-enterprise pathways
• Maintain program records and share periodic updates on training progress and outcomes

Programs combining technical training with employment pathways, market access, or entrepreneurship support will be particularly relevant.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Legal Status: Registered Trust, Society, Section 8 Company, or recognized training institution
  • Tax Exemption: Must possess 12A registration
  • Donor Benefit: Must possess 80G certification
  • Foreign Funding: FCRA registration (preferred, not mandatory)
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of operational experience
  • Track Record: Demonstrated experience in delivering vocational skills or livelihood training programs
  • Capacity: Professional program management and implementation capacity
